This weeks Rewind features the band “Loverboy”. The group was formed in 1980 and released their self-titled debut album “Loverboy” that same year. I thought this was a very good album with hits like “Turn Me Loose” and “The Kid is Hot Tonight”.
*Below I have included some inline links to the videos of these songs. These links will take you away from this site so just hit the back button on your browser to return here.*
In 1981 they released their second album titled “Get Lucky” which also turned out some good songs. Lucky Ones was one of them and one of my favorites is Take Me To The Top. Then in 1983 they released their third album called “Keep It Up”. This album featured the hit song Hot Girls in Love and also Queen of the Broken Hearts was on this album.
Here is some recent footage of Loverboy doing Take Me To The Top.
In 1985 they released their fourth album titled “Lovin’ Every Minute of it” which happened to be the last of their albums to go Double Platinum. This album featured the title track Lovin Every Minute Of It.
In 1987 they released their fifth album called “Wildside” which became the first not to go Platinum and the last one released for a stretch of ten years until 1997 when they regrouped and released their sixth album titled “Six”.
It would be four more years until number seven was released in 2001 titled “Live, Loud, and Loose”. This album was the bands first Live album which featured most all of their hits from 1982 to 1986 and were recorded live tracks from their concerts during that four year span.
Another six years would pass before their latest album was released in 2007 titled “Just Getting Started”. Most of the bands success came during their early years but are still touring today. That’s it for this weeks Classic Rock Rewind and be sure and cast your votes in the Classic Rock Battle of the Bands here at Music OverDrive.

Classic Rock Rewind with Nazareth
Learn How To Fix Your XBox 360 Here
This weeks Classic Rock Rewind features one of my favorite bands of all time, Nazareth. The band was formed in 1968 and released their self-titled debut album in 1972 called “Nazareth”. The four original band members were Dan McCafferty at lead vocals, Manny Charlton at lead guitar, Pete Agnew on Bass, and Darrell Sweet on drums.
In 1991 Manny Charlton left the band for a solo career and in 1999 drummer Darrell Sweet died of a heart attack. Nazareth is still touring today with original members McCafferty and Agnew along with Agnew’s son Lee on drums and Jimmy Murrison on guitar.
There is absolutely no mistaking the voice of Nazareth, as Dan McCafferty has a unique sandpaper voice that always has been, and always will be Nazareth.
In 1973 they released the album titled “Razamanaz”. This was a very good album featuring some good songs. A few of my favorites on this album were Razamanaz, Bad Bad Boy, and Night Woman. Actually, I liked every one on this album.
Night Woman is an excellent song and there are two videos of this song. The first video is a live cut featuring the current band members in concert and the second video is the recorded version off of the ‘Razamanaz” Album.
In 1975 they released their breakthrough album in ” Hair of the Dog”. This was an excellent album and my pick of the litter. This entire album was good. The two main trophies from this album were “Hair of the Dog” and “Love Hurts”. But like I say, the rest of the songs were top notch also. “Miss Misery”, “Changin Times”, “Beggars Day”,” Whiskey Drinkin Woman”, and “Please Don’t Judas Me” were all very good songs.
They went on to release around 30 albums in all. In my opinion, Nazareth is good, old fashioned Classic Rock at its finest and their music never gets old, or not to me anyway. I have enjoyed doing this rewind more than any I have done so far. I had forgotten just how much I really love Nazareth and their music.
I have included some audio and video clips of some of their songs and the links are below, so sit back and enjoy this weeks “Rewind” with Nazareth.
This first video is a very good one of Nazareth Live doing Night Woman.
